As those of you know who checked back over the weekend, the barber poll developed into a nip-and-tuck race between "the tweak" and "the retro." It is interesting that these hairstyles respectively represent modified versions of Janis' newer, short hairstyle and her older, long one. At Sunday's noon tally, each of the two hairstyles had received almost 10,000 votes, yet only one vote separated them.

Hundreds of you thoughtfully emailed me. Based upon written comments, I would have expected "the saucepan" to fare better, but in actual voting, it showed poorly, finishing fifth with less than half the votes of "the Camelot" which was a surprising (to me) finisher in fourth place. Third was "the apple pie."  Here are the final totals.

The reason for all this hair folderol was to have an excuse to invite you to arloandjanis.com. This is the new, personal Web site of Jimmy Johnson, the creator of A&J. Me. Welcome, I'm glad you're here. If you come back here every day, you'll see something like this.
