 This
series was a lot of fun to do. Not only did I get to
draw cartoons about another family, I got to play around
with sibling discourse. The dark-haired girl is Susan,
Gene's girlfriend at the time this appeared in 1995. She
was rather feckless and transitory. Her little sister is
Emma, whom I really, really liked. Her spirit and
personality somewhat presaged Gene's later, more serious
girlfriend, Ruth.
