Speaking of shopping when I was a boy: the small town where I grew up had no less than three stores where you could purchase quality men's clothing. That's not counting shoe stores,  two small department stores and sundry outlets for clothing of lesser quality. Today, there is only Wal-Mart. In fairness, most of these places were gone before Wal-Mart arrived.
