Malecon translates into "the jetty." It runs for
miles along the gulf shore of Havana and is truly a
breathtaking boulevard. It was designed and built by
engineers from the United States after the
Spanish-American War. The water just off its shore is
very deep and was Ernest Hemingway's fishing grounds. |
